Processing and quality control

Leading market position means continuous development and improvement of production processes. Thanks to state of the art technology, professional work of trained employees, we are able to ensure the highest quality of all our products.
Elixir Food applies state of the art technologies for fruit processing on three locations: Šabac, Bajina Bašta and Ivanjica (total capacity of 18 500 tons / daily production capacity of 550 tons) and possesses state of the art technological equipment for processing frozen fruits and vegetables on its production lines:

• “Frigoscandia” flow and static tunnels for instant freezing of fruits and vegetables

• 21 cooling chambers

• Line for processing and laser sorting of frozen raspberry and other soft fruit and vegetables

• Line for stone fruits processing – sour cherries and plums (washing, sorting,
calibrating, de-stoning, laser sorting, X-ray sorting, metal detecting , automatic packaging)

• Automated line for packaging frozen products and mixes into small packages in PVC bags weighing from 300g up to 2.5 kg (with the capacity of 2.5t/h)

• Contemporary line for fully automated packaging from the act of forming to closing of the box with the multihead weigher (with the capacity of 10t/h)

• Contemporary line for processing vegetables- paprika stripes and cubes (washing, sorting, cutting, blanching, instant freezing, laser sorting, automated packaging)

PRODUCTION LINE FOR PROCESSING RASPBERRIES AND BLACKBERRIES

• Fresh raspberries and blackberries are deep-frozen in static or flow tunnels into the product called DF raspberry original and DF blackberry original.
• Incoming raw materials of DF raspberry original and DF blackberry original are further processed on the lines with two laser sorters, the brand name of which is “Best“,  at the capacity of 4t/h, when the final products of raspberry and strawberry are produced and packed in different packages.
• Final products of raspberry and strawberry can be packed as mono-products or mixed with other small fruits over automated “Velteko” packaging machine for small packages. The capacity of the packaging machine which enables packaging of single product weighing from 300 g up to 2.5 kg   2,5 t/h in case of mono-products and 1 t/h in case of mixed products.

PRODUCTION LINE FOR PROCESSING DE-STONED SOUR CHERRIES:

• Technological process is carried out on two lines for processing sour cherries with total capacity of 10 t/h.
• The production process is carried out in the following stages: washing, calibrating, de-stoning on the de-stoners “Ferum“ and “Pigo“, deep-freezing in the flow tunnels, laser sorting over the device for detecting stones and parts of the stones, “X-ray“, weighing on the automatic scales  “Ishida“, packaging on the automated packaging machine into packages of 10 kg and over, metal detecting  and packaging onto the palettes.

PRODUCTION LINE FOR PROCESSING MECHANICALLY CUT PLUMS:

• Technological process is carried out on the production line for plum processing with the capacity of 10 t/h.
• The production process is carried out in the following stages: washing, calibrating, de-stoning on the de-stoners “Ferum“, deep-freezing in the flow tunnels, laser sorting over the device for detecting stones and parts of the stones, “X-ray“, weighing on the automatic scales “Ishida“, packaging on the automated packaging machine into packages of 10 kg and over, metal detecting and packaging onto the palettes.

PRODUCTION LINE FOR PROCESSING PAPRIKA  

• Technological process is carried out on two lines for processing paprika with total capacity of 7 t/h. Fresh paprika is processed on one of the lines on which final unblanched paprika products are produced, whereas on the other line further processing and blanching of paprika is performed.
• The production process of unblanched paprika includes: washing, removing paprika stalks from paprika, cutting paprika into halves, stripes or cubes on cutting devices, deep-freezing in the flow tunnels, laser sorting, weighing on the automatic scales “Ishida“, packaging on the automated packaging machine, metal detecting and packaging onto the palettes.
• The production process of blanched paprika includes: washing, removing paprika stalks from paprika, cutting paprika into stripes or cubes on cutting devices, blanching in blanchers at the temperature of 95°C, deep-freezing in the flow tunnels, laser sorting, weighing on the automatic scales “Ishida“, packaging on the automated packaging machine, metal detecting and packaging onto the palettes.

PRODUCTION LINE FOR PROCESSING BROCCOLI AND CAULIFLOWER:

• Technological process is carried out on one line for processing broccoli and cauliflower with the capacity of 7 t/h. Broccoli and cauliflower are processed in the technological process of blanching their flowers at the temperature of 95°C, with the temperature in the product of at least 70°C.
• The production process of blanched broccoli and cauliflower includes: cutting clusters of flowers into flowers, washing,  blanching in blanchers at the temperature of 95°C, deep-freezing in the flow tunnels, weighing on electric scales, manual packaging,  metal detecting and packaging onto the palettes.
